Sometimes it takes a while...

I hate how inspiration and drive can be fleeting. I always want to push myself to do things at a steady pace, but that just leads to me burning out. I just need to relax more and not worry; it's not like I have any deadlines or obligations here, right? Since I care about being constructive and helpful, I should manage fine, if slowly, by being myself.

Anyway, I've got a lot more to upload, but first, to help myself along, I'm gonna prepare a piece that's kinda stupid and silly. Trust me, it will make you groan. But I won't care!

Ah... I’m a lousy artist, so I’m kinda hesitant to get started, but I ought to so I can get better at the very least. Perhaps I’ll get to attempt some illustrations after the next semester gets underway. Meanwhile, I’m tying up loose ends, and I also shifted my roster again at Videoland. I dropped Alex since I wasn’t doing anything with him, and picked up a replacement character.

Millia Rage – From the Guilty Gear series. I feel kinda sorry for her because I can relate to her inner turmoil and her tendencies to be silent and withdrawn from everyone else. She’s a lot like me in that respect, and it’s rather fun to play as her online while wearing the mask of apathy. I’m also hoping that she can find some friends though, as much as she shuns them. Nei from Phantasy Star 2 suffers from similar internal strife, and Chipp Zanuff has a shaky alliance with her since she told him who killed Tsuyoshi in an attempt to get him off her back. She desperately needs a hug, even if she won’t admit it.

Maybe my first illustration I attempt will be all 6 characters I’ve played, standing together as a group. That would be Commander Keen, Alex, Nana and Popo (the Ice Climbers from Super Smash Bros. Melee), Ruby Heart, Toc-Man, and Millia Rage. That sounds like it could be a good place to start and get some practice in. And hey, they say to write what you know, so why not carry the same principle over to drawing?
